Abstract: 

THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF FRAGMENTATION BY BLASTING IS TO ACHIEVE THE OPTIMUM POWDER FACTOR, SATISFYING THE OPTIMUM FRAGMENTATION, THROWS, GROUND VIBRATION, ETC. THE IN- SITU ROCK MASS PROPERTIES ARE AMONG THE MOST IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTORY FACTORS IN FRAGMENTATION THAT THE TERM BLASTABILITY IS USED TO INDICATE THE SUSCEPTIBILITY OF THE ROCK MASS TO BLASTING WHICH HAS BECOME A PRESSING TASK FOR BLASTING OPERATIONS. SEVERAL APPROACHES HAVE BEEN USED FOR ESTIMATING BLASTABILITY. DESPITE THEIR WIDESPREAD USE IN PRACTICE, THEY HAVE SOME COMMON DEFICIENCIES LEADING TO UNCERTAINTIES IN THEIR PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS THROUGH SHARP TRANSITIONS BETWEEN TWO ADJACENT RATING CLASSES AND THE SUBJECTIVE UNCERTAINTIES ON DATA THAT ARE CLOSE TO THE RANGE BOUNDARIES OF ROCK CLASSES. IN THIS STUDY, THE FUZZY SET THEORY WAS APPLIED TO BLASTABILITY DESIGNATION (BD) CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS. FURTHERMORE, THE NEWLY DEVELOPED METHODOLOGY NAMED "EFFECTIVE RULES" WAS USED TO SOLVE BIG FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM (A SYSTEM WITH LARGE NUMBER OF UNMANAGEABLE FUZZY RULES) IN THIS PAPER. IN COMPARISON WITH THE CONVENTIONAL METHODS, IT WAS SEEN THAT THE FUZZY MODEL OPERATED MORE CONSISTENTLY. MOREOVER, IT WAS SHOWN THAT THE FUZZY SET THEORY COULD EFFECTIVELY OVERCOME THE UNCERTAINTIES ENCOUNTERED IN THE PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF CONVENTIONAL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS.

Abstract: 

BLASTABILITY is one of the most important and effective parameters in open pit mining, which is closely related to rock mass, environmental conditions, and explosion systems. To investigate BLASTABILITY, many classification systems have been proposed so far, each of which has expressed some of the parameters affecting the blasting according to environmental conditions and based on empirical judgments. Therefore, the factors affecting BLASTABILITY can be identified and determined according to theories and environmental conditions. Due to the necessity and presentation of a classification system to investigate the BLASTABILITY of the Sangan iron ore mines project, by studying and examining each of these factors, in this paper, this classification system was presented and introduced. For this purpose, according to the response received from a questionnaire sent to experts around the world and using the fuzzy Delphi Hierarchical Analysis (FDAHP) method, the weighting of each of the factors affecting the proposed classification system was performed and finally, a new classification system was introduced to optimize BLASTABILITY classification.

Abstract: 

Background and objectives: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is the most common mononeuropathy encountered in clinical practice. Conventional electro diagnosis studies have been useful in the diagnosis of this condition. The Terminal Latency INDEX (TLI) is a derived neurophysiological value that adjusts the Distal motor Latency (DL) for the terminal distance and motor nerve Conduction Velocity (CV).Several studies have suggested utility of the median TLI for diagnosis of CTS.The goal of this study is to evaluate prospectively the sensitivity of the median TLI in the diagnosis of CTS and compare it with other electrodiagnosis techniques.Material and Methods: This study was done on 111 patients as CTS group & 62 healthy subject as control group. In all groups five selected tests of electrodiagnosis were done and all of them were compared with TLI sensitivity.Results: The mean TLI was 0.3±0.05 in the CTS group and 0.42±0.03 in the control group. The sensitivity of TLI was 73% The TLI wasn't statistically better than the other tests, but in three cases from the CTS group, the TLI was the only abnormal test.The 7 and 14 cm method had meaningful sensitivity in contrary to other tests.Conclusion: The sensitivity of TLI has no meaningful difference with other routine electro diagnostic tests in diagnosis of CTS.The median TLI is a useful but not more sensitive electrodiagnostic test for CTS.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Three methods of OCRA INDEX, Strain INDEX (SI), and ACGIH HAL have been proposed for the assessment of risk factors of upper limb musculoskeletal disorders. Investigating the correlation and consistency of these three methods are of prominence importance in the workplaces. Thus, this study aimed to determine the correlations of the results of the above mentioned methods. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 150 tasks were studied in four industries. For each task, a video taping of a full working cycle was prepared and evaluated according to the instructions of each method. The level of risk exposure to musculoskeletal disorders was analyzed with correlation and Kappa agreement coefficient tests using SPSS (version 16) and R software packages.Results: The correlation between the results of risk assessments of OCRA and SI methods for right and left hands were acceptable and equal to 0.751 and 0.726, respectively (p<0.001). Meanwhile, the coefficients of agreement between OCRA and HAL methods for left and right hands were 0.526 and 0.595, respectively.Conclusion: These findings partly confirmed the agreement between the methods of risk assessment. The origin of this partial agreement can be the number and type of variables and their impacts on the final score of the methods.

Abstract: 

The explosives like ANFO, despite low density and low VOD cause desired fragmentation if they’ve been used in a good pattern. Then it is necessary to present an independent classification criterion from density and VOD. For doing this, here, the explosive power was defined and calculated by a pre-existing definition in physical chemistry which hasn’t been common in mining. In according to this definition, the explosive power especially for a charge exploding in a confined space like a blast hole, is equal to the explosion obtained heat multiply by the explosion obtained gas volume. After calculating this power for conventional mining explosives, in order to have a good comparison criterion and for controlling the relation between calculated powers and desirability of fragmentation, all calculated power were divided by the power of ANFO as the most common explosive in mining which also causes good fragmentation. The dimensionless results were the based on ANFO power indices. Analyzing the power data showed that the explosives like ANFO and AL-ANFO in spite of their low VOD, have high power or in other words, the PI of ANFO is close to the PI of a dense and high VOD explosive like nitroglycerin, and the PI of AL-ANFO is even more than the power of  TNT. It means, in an unidirectional statement, if an explosive causes good fragmentation, it has high power whereas by now the good fragmentation of ANFO accounted as an exception. In addition the correlation coefficient study of the power to density data didn’t show any dependency for power to density. Therefore this study recommends the mentioned PI as a criterion for explosive selecting in blast design instead of density and VOD.As an application and confirmation, the basic equation for ANFO specific charge on the basis of blast ability INDEX were modified with using the calculated PIs whereas conventionally it was modified by relative weight strength. By observation of the graphs were developed by the equations come from PI modification, it was seen that the graph of black powder as a weak explosive completely became detached but RWS modification couldn’t do so.

Abstract: 

Introduction: J.E.Hirsch introduced H INDEX to scientometric domain, representing actual scientific profitability quality of a researcher’s publications; and is equal to effective INDEX for researchers. Literature review: Studies showed that documents database have provided different H scores for each researcher and for different scientific fields. Despite the utmost advantages of H-INDEX it also have some flaws such as need to use complementary indices such as m, r, g INDEX. Conclusions: The strength point of H INDEX, is its ability to use in limited levels which is an complementary for other bibliomeetric exist INDEXes. This INDEX, with others, could be a suit INDEX to improvement scientific levels for researchers, scientist, and scientific board members.
